And in science news today, Federation astrophysicists are baffled by the sudden and unexpected collapse of 59 Virginis, an uninhabited star system near the Federation-Romulan Neutral Zone. The star's self-destruction comes as a surprise as the science community estimates that 59 Virginis was a relatively young main sequence star and far beyond its extinguishing point. Of even greater mystery is the black hole formed by the collapsed mass, for with a solar mass of only slightly greater than Sol, its core remnants should have lacked the sufficient mass to generate such an event. Further studies will be published in the Federation scientific journals.
